The company was formerly the R&D department of Advanced Sound Products (ASP), which has been actively involved in audio industry sine 1986. In Oct 2003, the department was officially transformed into an independent company, and was named Advanced Sound Technology
(AST), Its purpose is to focus on high quality audio solution technology breakthrough,
particularly in high quality audio reproduction. The company also designs and manufactures speaker systems and transducers for many multi-national companies worldwide, which have successfully received noteworthy recognition and international
awards. In April 2005, AST was officially granted
MSC status by Malaysia government.

:: Chronology of AST

1986    Establishment of parent company
           - Sound-Tech Corporation (M) Sdn Bhd.
1990    Joint venture with Royal Philips Electronics.
1993    Royal Philips Electronics acquires 100% of the shares.
           Sound-Tech obtains the ISO 9001 certification.
1997    Sound-Tech became Philips Sound System (PSS) Asia Pacific
           – headquarter for business and R&D centre.
2000    Local investor, Mr. SL Hui acquired 80% of the company shares.
           The new venture was renamed as Advanced Sound Products (ASP).
2003    Advanced Sound Technology (AST) was also established in Oct 03.
2004    Advanced Sound Products is 100% owned by Mr. SL Hui. Advanced Sound
           Products (Shenzhen) Co Ltd starts operating on March 04.
2005    AST is officially granted MSC status by Malaysia Government in April 05.
2006    Whole R&D Department of ASP fully transferred to AST in May 06. AST becomes
           the only R&D resources of the ASP Group of companies.
